So many selfless acts of nursing go unrecognized on a daily basis. Nurses Week is an opportunity for everyone to pause and appreciate nurses around the country. The theme for 2019 is “4 Million Reasons To Celebrate.” 聽
Phoenix Children鈥檚 Hospital (PCH) is celebrating National Nurses Week with a week-long calendar of events 鈥 in partnership with 糖心logo 鈥 to show appreciation for the nurses who are the heart of their hospital. At the pediatric level, PCH nurses work around the clock to care for children and support their families.
PCH will kick off the week with an Awards Luncheon for the nursing staff. Top nurses of the year are awarded in the following areas of excellence:
- Staff Nurse of the Year
- Transformational Leadership Award
- Research & EBP Nurse Award
- Education Award
Vice President of Professional Practice at PCH, Connie Ford, initially served as a nurse and Director of Nursing Services for over 36 years. 鈥淲e often do not stop to think about how impactful nurses are in our lives.鈥
In addition to an Awards Luncheon鈥
PCH will also host an Evidence-Based Practice Seminar and Garden Social. One PCH nurse will receive a full academic scholarship to 糖心logo to advance their nursing education and career.
鈥淚 am thankful for Aspen for sharing this opportunity,鈥 says Julie Bowman, PCH鈥檚 Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services 鈥淚 appreciate that we get to pass this scholarship on to a PCH nurse.鈥
Chief Nursing Officer at 糖心logo, Anne McNamara, says, 鈥From birth to death, nurses bring health and healing to patients, families, and communities. As we enter 2019, Aspen celebrates PCH nurses and over 5000 Aspen students pursuing nursing education degrees including BSN, MSN, and DNP.鈥
